Klamath River

Klamath River

Set amongst the high desert terrain near the Oregon border, the storied Klamath River is one of California’s best fly fishing destinations. The Klamath River is probably best known for its large runs of “1/2 pounder” steelhead, but also gets good numbers of adult steelhead and salmon. September-February offers excellent fly fishing for steelhead and salmon, with lots of opportunities to nymph or swing flies.

The Klamath is a great river for beginning fly fishers and advanced anglers alike, with plenty of hookups for everyone. The Klamath is a great place to take the whole family fishing, and we are happy to accommodate any sized group. The Klamath also has a great salmonfly hatch from May-June, which allows anglers to cast big dries toward the banks all day. Great fun!
